Banjo player of Hokum Jukebox

A racket born on a bench.

Hokum Jukebox started where a lot of good things do — at a pub bench in East London, with too many pints and a banjo that nobody could quite tune. We pull from 1920s hokum, ragtime, country blues and jug-band traditions, then drag them, grinning, into a 21st-century public bar.

What you get is loose, loud, and built for dancing. Banjo and washboard up front, upright bass holding the floor down, harmonica and kazoo poking through wherever they fancy. Four-part hollerin' optional, but encouraged.

We've played front rooms, back gardens, pizza yards, folk clubs and the occasional wedding. If your venue has electricity and a bar, we can probably make it work. If it doesn't have electricity, even better.

Pubs, weddings, festivals, garden parties, funerals (if it's a fun one). Drop us a line and we'll send a quote, a setlist, and probably a terrible pun.
